Glam rock icon Suzi Quatro has written her first poetry book saying that if she hadn’t put pen to paper it would have “killed her.”

The singer, 66, who also played the Fonz’s girlfriend in Happy Days says Through My Eyes is like a diary of her poetry and thoughts over 55 years.

She told Mirror Celeb: “I’ve been writing poetry since I was seven – no diary for me! – and I’ve always been passionate about the written word and everything it encompasses: the rhythm, the rhyme, the revelation, the dark, the light, the mystery and the emotion.

“This collection covers 55 years of my life.”

The Can the Can singer added: “To leave the words inside would have killed me!”
