New Hampshire will soon have its own poetry festival.
The inaugural New Hampshire Poetry Festival takes place Sept. 19 at the New Hampshire Institute of Art in Manchester. It will feature Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Charles Simic — a former US poet laureate.
Two leading literary organizations — the Poetry Society of New Hampshire and the New Hampshire Institute of Art — are planning the event.
The festival will feature workshops by noted poets Ravi Shankar, Tim Liardet, Jeff Friedman, and New Hampshire poet laureate Alice Fogel and readings from various poets from New England and the world.
