Mouthy Poets are hosting a carnival of poetry and performance at Nottingham Playhouse on Saturday, July 25.
With two brand new Mouthy Poets shows, a scratch performance from Non-Such Theatre, appearances from Mrs Green, Sheep Soup, Harry Baker and an 86 people strong carnival dance troupe, Zodiac All Stars, it is going to be the biggest event Mouthy Poets have ever staged at the Playhouse.
Mouthy Poets are a collective of 50 15–30 year olds who write and perform their own poetry and produce their own events. They help young people tell their own stories and to develop personally and professionally.
They are funded by Arts Council England and supported as associate artists by Nottingham Playhouse.
There will be a wide range of workshops on Saturday,including circus skills with Notts Circus, sound poetry with Hannah Silva, instant film-making with Deanna Roger playwriting with Nottingham Playhouse and poetry and theatre-making for children, as well as face painting and giant games.
