KU institute focuses on black poetry (via Topeka Capital-Journal)

The University of Kansas will stage a series of poetry readings and discussions as part of the Black Poetry after the Black Arts Movement institute taking place on the Lawrence campus during the next two weeks.

Twenty-five college and university teachers from across the United States were selected for the institute. The institute’s title refers to the artistic movement that accompanied the Black Power Movement of the 1960s and the poetry produced since then.
