A 2011 Hudson High School graduate will combine his love of poetry and helping people Aug. 6 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Caffe Gasperi to raise money for a charity dear to his heart, Milestones Autism Resources.
Sean Giannetti, 23, who began penning his own poetry last fall, hopes to pack the caffè’s adjoining art studio at 46 Ravenna St, Suite D2, with guests who will donate $5 for a night of poetry reading and enjoyment.
Attendees can sit back and listen or stand up and read an original poem or a favorite authored by another poet.
“I’ve always had a passion for poetry and I wanted to do something to help someone else out,” Sean, who will be attending Kent State University this fall to study poetry and acting, said. “I went to a poetry reading my best friend, Aaron Bennett, was at and I read one of my poems and I knew I wanted to be a poet myself.”
A few of Sean’s favorite poets include Edgar Allen Poe and Robert Frost, he said.
Proceeds from the event will go to Milestones Autism Resources.
