Black History Month 2015 has much for those in Northwest Philadelphia to do.

Organizations like Center in the Park in Germantown is planning an art series, while the Ausar Auset Society up the street will focus on spiritual development for the new year. Churches, like the Germantown Church of the Brethren, will host “Poetify,” and Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, will be hosting a Black History Month revivals with African-American priests and one Vincentian priest.

First, Center in the Park will have an “Ideas and Images” two-day workshop. Philadelphia University art professor James Wallace will lead the matured adult population to tap into their artistic side. These workshops will be held at the center located at 5818 Germantown Ave. in Vernon Park on Wednesday, Feb. 11, and Friday, Feb. 13, at 9 a.m.
