The 20th annual West Chester University Poetry Conference will be held next week, bringing a schedule of events to the school that are free and open to the public.
The gathering, running from June 4 through June 7, is the nation’s largest all-poetry writing conference.
Natasha Tretheway, now serving her second term as U.S. Poet Laureate, will be the keynote speaker and will give a reading at 8:45 p.m. June 4 in the Performing Arts Center on South High Street. Other readings by poets, including Dana Gioia, David Mason, Molly Peacock, Mary Jo Salter, and A. E. Stallings, will take place at the same location at 8:15 p.m. on June 5 and 6.
Grammy Award-winning jazz vocalist and pianist Diane Schuur will perform a concert at 8:15 p.m. June 7 at the Performing Arts Center.
