Full Title: “Nana Fredua-Agyeman Jnr. Collaborates with David Dontoh on New Album [Press Release] (via Fredua-Agyeman/Dontoh)”
Poet & Spoken Word Artiste, Nana Fredua-Agyeman Jnr. is set to release his second spoken word poetry album which is said to feature various artistes. One of the main guest artistes on the project is none other than one of Ghana’s foremost actors, David Dontoh. Their collaboration created a powerful work of art. “This is sense captured and rendered in gold. I love the timbre and calibre of quality, invaluable! Simply great” said Mr. Dontoh after listening to the final production, which was produced by 3nity of Steezeyard Studios.
Nana Fredua-Agyeman Jnr. stated that, “It is an honour to share the same creative space with someone I consider not only a legend but a mentor. His wealth of knowledge and work is impeccable and exemplary, respectively. He is a complete artiste”.
With a career spanning over three decades, David Dontoh is undoubtedly one of the world’s foremost performers in film and theatre. Having appeared in over two thousand (2000) stage performances including; The Blinkards, Edufa, Mambo, Jogojo, The Alien King, The Story Ananse Told, The Fall of Khumbi, Our Husband Has Gone Mad Again, Death and the King’s Horseman, just to mention a few.
David Dontoh has featured in numerous film productions. Some of them include Kukurantumi: Road to Accra (1983), Heritage Africa (1988), Sika Sunsum (1990), I Surrender (1994), Rituals of Fire (1995), Deadly Voyage (1996), Rejected (1997), Police Officer 2 (1998), Accra Killings (2000), No Time to Die (2007), The Dead (2008) and a host of others.
In 2006, President John Agyekum Kufuor awarded David Dontoh with the Order of the Volta, a prestigious national accolade for his contribution to national development.
David Dontoh is also a poet, dramatist, scriptwriter, composer, playwright, songwriter, singer, sculptor and painter. He is currently the Chairman of the Ghana National Film Authority Board.
The album is set for release before the end of the year.
