Madison Public Library invites teens and tweens to join their Poetry Club (via NJ.com)

Teens and tweens are invited to join the Poetry Club at the Madison Public Library. Each meeting will include a chance to read a favorite poem (original or not) and a chance to learn some new styles and approaches to writing poetry that may simplify the process and offer new inspiration for writing poet.

The first session of 2015 will be at 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 16. Teens will make and decorate a poetry journal and try out some different “formula” poems. Participants will also have a chance to browse the teen blackout poetry in the January exhibit. Feel free to bring a poem along to read. Please register online via the library calendar.

The next session will be Friday, March 13, at 4 p.m. and will feature online/offline magnetic poetry and limericks.
