No sleep ’til Detroit.

A Brooklyn poet is ditching Kings County for the Motor City where she’ll be welcomed with a free, freshly renovated house.

Casey Rocheteau, 29, was the first person selected through a new program designed to lure writers to the struggling city.

“I’m interested in having a little more space, to dream and get weird with my work, and I thought Detroit would be a brilliant opportunity for that,” said Rocheteau, a writer, historian and performance artist.

She’ll own the one-bedroom, 900-square foot bungalow thanks to Write A House, a one-year-old nonprofit which bought the property for $1,000 at a foreclosure sale and put out a call to writers willing to relocate to Detroit.

The idea was to draw attention to the city’s literary community and bolster it with new recruits while rebuilding derelict homes.

“I think there are amazing stories here,” said Write A House co-president Sarah Cox. “Whether you write fiction, nonfiction or poetry, there’s a wealth of material.”
