The Sutter Brothers present poetry, song, and stories at the Edge (via Herald Review)

The Edge Center in Bigfork welcomes the Sutter Brothers of Duluth with their music, poetry, and stories for an entertaining afternoon at 2 p.m. Sunday Sept. 7. Ross specializes in music with Scandinavian, Celtic, and American folk traditions sung and played on a variety musical instruments. His brother Barton, a prolific award-winning writer, was named the first Poet Laureate of Duluth. A great mix of talent and variety of entertainment celebrating the marriage of music and storytelling will entertain and provide a good perspective of the two art forms. Prices are $10 for adults and $6 for children.

The Sutter Brothers play at a variety of venues including, concert halls, senior centers, outdoor festivals and anywhere else people can gather to enjoy a mixture of music and poetry. Ross is the “roving troubadour” of the family and has played on “A Prairie Home Companion.” His music is featured on Walking on Air, Up the Raw, Crossing the Shannon, Hunger No More and his popular children’s CD, Mama Will You Buy Me A Banana. He will bring his guitar, dulcimer, button accordion, bagpipes, bodhran, and an Irish goatskin drum to accompany himself.
